Dr Dolapo Sotade

Orthopaedic Surgeon

Dr Sotade is an orthopaedic surgeon specialising in hip and knee arthroplasty (including robotic-assisted techniques), foot and ankle surgery, and orthopaedic trauma. A Darling Downs local, he attended secondary school in Toowoomba and went on to complete a Bachelor of Medicine and a Master of Traumatology at the University of Newcastle. He undertook Orthopaedic Surgery training through the NSW Training Program and was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (Orthopaedics) and the Australian Orthopaedic Association.

He completed post-fellowship training in Brisbane in Hip & Knee Robotic Arthroplasty and in Foot & Ankle Surgery, with interests spanning joint preservation, complex reconstructions and management of sports and trauma-related injuries.

Dr Sotade consults privately at Summit Orthopaedics,  and holds a public appointment with Toowoomba Base Hospital. He is actively involved in registrar education and collaborative, multidisciplinary care for patients across the region.

He has completed two sub-specialty fellowships:

Dr Dolapo Sotade is a Fellowship-trained Orthopaedic Surgeon with a comprehensive practice in hip and knee joint replacement (including robotic-assisted surgery), foot and ankle reconstruction, and orthopaedic trauma.

He is originally from the Lockyer Valley and was educated in Toowoomba. Dr Sotade earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Master of Traumatology at the University of Newcastle, New South Wales. He went on to complete Orthopaedic Surgery training in the NSW Training Program, where he was awarded Fellowship.

During his time in the Hunter New England Health District, he was honoured with the Doctor of the Year Award, reflecting his clinical acumen and leadership.
